Psychology & Animal Assisted Wellbeing (P.A.A.W.) is a Psychology Practice, where the psychologists work with professionally trained and assessed therapy dogs, providing Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT).
AAT is where an appropriately trained animal is involved in the therapeutic process, assisting evidence-based therapeutic modalities (counselling, IPT, CBT etc.).
We work with clients from ages 4 years to older adult, with a range of presenting issues.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
All of our psychologists are experienced and enjoy working with people on the autism spectrum.
We are able to accept self-managed & plan-managed NDIS referrals. Unfortunately we are not able to accept NDIA managed NDIS clients.
Some clients may be suitable for Equine Therapy. These sessions are held at a property in Burpengary and are typically claimable under NDIS & MHCP referrals. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information about working with Sam & her horses, Power & Ruby. Sam has received Equine therapy training through EAGALA and Animal Assisted Therapy Programs of Colorado.
